Simplify Maintenance with BioClean

Billco BioClean: Streamlining Maintenance

Billco’s BioClean system simplifies the maintenance process for your glass washer. The self-sanitizing system controls bacteria and algae growth by removing any possible build-up in washer tanks and surface areas.

Proper, regular maintenance is essential for optimal glass results, but it can be time-consuming and disrupt production. Without proper maintenance, process-damaging bacteria and organic growth can develop in the water and on surfaces such as rolls, brushes, tanks, sheet metal, spray lines, affecting the final product. The BioClean reduces maintenance labor, frees up time, and promotes a safer working environment.

Typically, maintaining a washer required scrubbing or power-washing with harsh disinfectants like chlorine, bromine, hydrogen peroxide and others. The BioClean is an environmentally friendly solution, eliminating the need for harsh chemicals and preventing dangerous spills and splashing. What once took around five hours of labor each month on a weekend can now be done automatically at the push of a button.

BioClean works by releasing copper and silver ions into the water through an ion exchange process. In circulation, these positively charged copper and silver ions are attracted to the negatively charged microorganisms and neutralize them. Copper ions disrupt the respiration process with their ability to metabolize nutrients and oxygen. With the cell wall vulnerable, silver ions penetrate the organism’s DNA/RNA, inhibiting the microorganism’s ability to reproduce. These copper and silver ions are released into the treatment solution by exchanging ions of sodium, calcium, magnesium for silver and copper. This long-wearing ion-exchange system is designed to last several years of continuous use before requiring replacement, providing long-term reliability.

Before this ion-exchange system, a media-free filter system is used to filter suspended solids and debris from the water. This centrifugal filtration system removes grinding fines and glass chips, interleaving acrylic beads, and other non-dissolved solids down to 10 μm in size, keeping the internal mechanics and plumbing of the BioClean system free of inorganic contamination. Water is pumped through this filtration and ion-generating components by an onboard pump system, powered from a standard 120 VAC supply.

The BioClean requires minimal attention or maintenance. It’s designed to avoid corrosion of common washer parts like rubber compounds, polymers and metal surfaces, ensuring your machine lasts for years. There’s no need for refilling chemicals or extra cleaning.

The portable BioClean system is ideal for use across multiple washers, making it perfect for both older washers and new ones. Operators, simply move the system to each zone during the cleaning process. New washers can be integrated with BioClean’s built-in system, featuring an AutoFill and AutoDrain function, further reducing maintenance.
